“I want to know what their pain points are because at the end of the day I want to help them.”
For more than two decades, Cori Eckley-Richards has been solving problems most people never see.
As Vice President of NATCO Transport, Cori leads a third-party logistics company headquartered in Arlington, Texas. But if you ask her what has fueled the company’s success, the answer is not trucks, technology, or transportation networks.
It is relationships.
A Fourth-Generation Transportation Leader
Transportation has always been part of Cori’s story.
She is a fourth-generation transportation professional who grew up watching her parents build businesses in the industry. Dinner conversations revolved around entrepreneurship, trucking, customers, and the realities of running a small business.
Still, transportation was not the career she originally planned for herself.
After high school, she earned a business degree with a minor in finance and envisioned building a career outside the family business. Numbers fascinated her, and she expected to take a completely different path.
Then life changed.
While she was finishing school, her father experienced health challenges and asked her to return to help the business. Cori agreed, planning to stay only temporarily while earning her graduate degree.
A few years later, her father unexpectedly passed away.
At just 24 years old, Cori found herself helping her mother navigate multiple businesses while learning the complexities of transportation and logistics. What started as a short-term commitment became a lifelong career. Through that difficult season, she learned leadership, resilience, and how to build a business through uncertainty.
What NATCO Transport Actually Does
Many people assume transportation companies own fleets of trucks. NATCO Transport works differently.
As a third-party logistics company, NATCO acts as the connection point between customers who need freight moved and carriers who have available equipment and drivers. The company coordinates transportation solutions across a wide range of industries and shipment types.
Their customers range from small businesses with fewer than 10 employees to large publicly traded organizations with thousands of employees and nationwide operations.
Every shipment comes with unique challenges. Some require specialized equipment. Others involve strict production schedules, loading requirements, crane appointments, or disaster recovery efforts following severe weather events.
For Cori, those challenges are what make the work exciting.
“The more complex, the more challenges you give me, the more I love it.”
She describes transportation as a giant puzzle where every piece matters. Her role is not simply finding a truck. It is understanding the entire situation and helping customers find the best possible solution.
Why Relationships Matter More Than Transactions
One lesson Cori learned early in her career changed how she approaches business.
When she entered the logistics industry, she noticed many transportation professionals relied heavily on phone calls and transactional conversations. Few took the time to visit customers, tour facilities, or understand how a client’s operation actually worked.
That never made sense to her.
“I feel that coming in and learning about the customer’s business, seeing their operations, taking a tour, you learn so much.”
Instead of treating logistics as a numbers game, Cori focuses on understanding the details behind every shipment. Sometimes that means walking a facility. Sometimes it means identifying operational bottlenecks. Sometimes it means finding a simple solution that saves time and frustration for everyone involved.
That hands-on approach has become one of NATCO’s defining characteristics. Customers know they are not just another account. They know someone is paying attention.
Integrity as a Competitive Advantage
Ask Cori what separates NATCO Transport from other logistics companies, and her answer comes quickly: integrity, communication, and transparency.
Those values have become even more important as fraud and theft continue to impact the transportation industry.
Rather than making promises she cannot keep, Cori believes in setting realistic expectations and communicating openly, even when conversations are difficult.
“I would much rather deliver bad news than try to hide behind something.”
That philosophy has earned trust from customers across the country. One of the highest compliments she receives is simple:
“When I give it to NATCO, I don’t worry about it.”
For Cori, that level of confidence means everything. It represents years of consistency, reliability, and doing what she says she will do.
A Team Built on Trust
While Cori often serves as the face of NATCO Transport, she is quick to highlight the people who help make the company successful.
NATCO operates with a small but highly connected team that works closely together to solve customer challenges and maintain exceptional communication.
The company intentionally prioritizes culture over rapid growth. Rather than expanding as quickly as possible, Cori focuses on building a team that shares the same values and commitment to customer service.
That approach allows NATCO to maintain a personalized experience while serving customers ranging from local businesses to large organizations.
The NuvoDesk Connection
NATCO Transport has called NuvoDesk Coworking in Arlington, TX, home since March 2020.
At the time, Cori was searching for a workspace solution that would provide the professionalism of a large office without the overhead and limitations of traditional commercial space.
NuvoDesk delivered exactly that.
“It gives us the big office feel, but for a small company.”
The private offices allow the team to collaborate closely while still maintaining individual workspaces. Conference rooms provide flexibility when meeting with customers. Shared amenities create a professional environment without requiring NATCO to manage every aspect of a traditional office lease.
Perhaps most importantly, NuvoDesk supports the company culture Cori values.
The space feels professional without feeling corporate, modern without feeling impersonal, and collaborative without sacrificing privacy.
As NATCO continues to evolve, NuvoDesk provides a flexible environment that grows alongside the business.
Growing Strategically
After more than two decades in transportation, Cori remains focused on steady, intentional growth.
She has no desire to build the largest logistics company in the industry. Instead, she wants to build the right company, one known for relationships, communication, and solving problems.
NATCO Transport continues to grow strategically, adding opportunities while protecting the culture and values that have defined the business for years.
For Cori, it all comes back to relationships, trust, and people. Those three things have shaped her leadership style, her company culture, and the way NATCO serves its customers every day.
At the end of the day, transportation is not just about moving freight. It is about helping people get what they need, when they need it, with confidence that someone is handling the details.
